The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) deadline of 2015 is fast approaching
with less than 1,000 days left to achieve this agenda. This recognition triggers the United Nations (UN) and its partners worldwide to accelerate action to achieve the goals that are not yet attained, and also underscores the urgency of designing a post-2015 framework able to address the weaknesses of the current framework while meeting new global challenges
Efforts to develop the "post-2015 development agenda” began after the launch of the UN Secretary-General’s 2011 Report on "Accelerating progress towards the Millennium Development Goals: options for sustained and inclusive growth and issues for  advancing the United Nations development agenda beyond 2015” (A 66/126). This report mandates the UN to embark on an inclusive, open, and transparent multi-stakeholder consultation process to help inform and design the post-2015 agenda.
This UN-NGLS e-magazine provides an overview of the current state of affairs and recent events and discussions related to the UN-led process of defining the post-2015 agenda and the intergovernmental decision-making follow-up to Rio+20, the UN Conference on Sustainable Development. In an effort to showcase a range of voices and views on significant issues, The 2015 Post includes opinion pieces, interviews, and analysis of UN and civil society-led projects, conferences, reports and resources. It highlights key messages emerging from these processes, while pointing out future opportunities to engage with them.Click here for the complete e-magazine.
