Panama City, Panama: Over 70 FIABCI – USA members joined hundreds of real estate industry leaders from 65 countries in Panama City, Panama from May 21 - 26 at the 67th FIABCI World Congress. "The 67th FIABCI World Congress was a dynamic gathering of the best in global real estate. Over six hundred people experienced this outstanding forum which combined robust international business development with tourism featuring the warm hospitality of Panama” said Katherine Shahani, head of the conference organizing committee.
Highlights included Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela opening the Congress, and the Jorge Quijano, CEO of the Canal Expansion and the Minster of Housing, Mario Etchelecu addressing the Congress. Housing was the focus of many of the Congress sessions with participation from Tom Salomone, the National Association of REALTORS President and Owen Gwyn, Chairperson of the Global Housing Foundation. Legal experts addressed the very relevant topic of offshoring and tax law.
Each World Council presented well planned and informative panels and architects Ignacio Mallol and Carlos Cruz Diez closed the program with inspirational and artistic visions of the future.
Social Program Congress Delegates were treated to the FIABCI Derby horse race where World President Danielle Grossenbacher joined the Winner’s Circle, a Welcome Cocktail at the Miraflores Locks where they could see cargo ships passing through the Canal and spectacular Prix d’ Excellence and Farewell dinners.
